For more than 30 years, PlanToys® has been consistently developing its products and activities with a strong commitment to sustainability.
PlanToys® are made from natural rubber wood trees that no longer produce latex. To keep the wood pure, no fertiliser is added to the soil three years prior to cutting the trees down. In order to strengthen the wood, PlanToys® uses a chemical-free kiln-drying process. The products are assembled using a certified E-Zero formaldehyde free glue in place of traditional toxic wood glue and do not contain any chemical dyes containing lead or any other heavy metals. Recycled paper and Soy ink are used for the printed materials. Soy ink is more readily biodegradable and can be recycled more efficiently than standard chemical ink.
PlanWood™ is another high quality, safe and sustainable material in their toy-making process. This material is often used in harmony with their solid rubberwood.
In addition, the PlanToys® factory uses biomass and solar technology to ensure products are manufactured sustainably, and with the replanting of 9,000 trees a year it is even a carbon Neutral company.
