Kidscase was founded in 2000 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, as a small independent company by designer Jacqueline van Nieuwkerk and marketer Merel Verbrugge. Their intention was to design collections that fitted the lifestyle of individualistic and modern parents and their children. Right from the launch of the first collection in 2001 the simple fashion-forward style, their eye for detail in design, the choice of colours and edgy colour combinations attracted attention. It was an immediate success with a number of pioneering children’s boutiques in The Netherlands and Belgium.
They have always aimed to have their collections produced by methods that are both fair to people and environmentally friendly. It turned out to be no easy choice, but their enthusiasm to reach these objectives has never faded and with two steps forward and sometimes a leap back they’re getting there! They are constantly on the look out for fabrics made from organically grown crops. They cooperate with factories that work with respect for their people and for our planet. About 70% of each collection is made of organic cotton, of which 50% is certified as made under humane working conditions. And they're not done yet.
